FAQs
✈️ General Questions
Q: What makes GoFly Academy different from other flight schools?
A: GoFly Academy is a customer-focused flight school offering a personalized training experience. We prioritize safety, quality, and a supportive learning environment—not a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Our mission is to develop confident, competent pilots through expert instruction and state-of-the-art equipment. There are no deposits or contracts in our school and our methodology is one-on-one.
Q: Where is GoFly Academy located?
A: We are conveniently located at the Opa-Locka Executive Airport, with access to modern classrooms, a Redbird FMX simulator, and a diverse fleet.
Q: Do you accept international students?
A: At this time, we only accept U.S. residents or candidates who already hold a valid visa or approved legal status in the United States. We do not issue M-1 or F-1 visas.
🛫 Flight Training
Q: What programs do you offer?
A: We offer training for Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot (Single-Engine as well as Multi-Engine), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Fight Instructor Instrument (CFII), License Convalidations, and more. We also offer accelerated options and custom training plans.
Q: How long does it take to become a pilot?
A: It depends on your availability and the program. A full-time student can typically complete Private Pilot in 2–3 months, and a full career pathway (from Private to CFII) in 12–15 months.
Q: Do you offer accelerated programs?
A: Yes! We can build a custom accelerated training program based on your goals and availability, while still ensuring safety and quality training.
🎮 Simulator
Q: What kind of simulator do you have?
A: Our Redbird FMX full-motion simulator is FAA-approved and features wraparound visuals, dual controls, and interchangeable cockpits. It can be used for training and currency requirements.
Q: Can I log simulator time toward my rating?
A: Absolutely. Simulator time can count toward certain FAA training requirements, particularly for Instrument Rating and proficiency training.
